Education and Leadership: Memorandum of Cooperation Signed Between the SRC and YSU
On May 11, at the initiative of the Training Center of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia and Yerevan State University, aimed at strengthening the connection between the education sector and the public administration system, developing the potential of young professionals, and creating new opportunities for professional cooperation.
The signing ceremony was attended by SRC Chairman Eduard Hakobyan and YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan.
In his welcoming remarks, YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between universities and the labor market, noting that such cooperation enables students to become more familiar with the public administration system and gain practical knowledge during their studies.
As part of the event, SRC Chairman Eduard Hakobyan delivered a lecture entitled “From Student to Leader”, addressing the path of personal and professional development that begins during student years, the formation of leadership skills, and the specifics of building a career in the public sector.
The SRC Chairman noted that leadership begins not with a position, but with responsibility, initiative, and continuous self-education. He also emphasized that real progress is primarily the result of competing with oneself, while the public sector provides young people with an important opportunity to serve society.
During the lecture, discussions also covered the skills most in demand in the public sector, the importance of innovative thinking, and the role of experience, diligence, and values in professional growth.
Following the lecture, an interactive Q&A session took place, during which participants discussed issues related to personal and professional development, as well as economic policy. Students expressed interest in the skills necessary to succeed in the public sector, the process of joining the SRC system, and issues related to combating the shadow economy and tax policy concerning the SME sector.
At the conclusion of the event, YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan thanked the SRC Chairman for the informative lecture and open, interactive discussion, emphasizing the importance of continued meetings between students and the SRC system.
The SRC Training Center of the Republic of Armenia continues initiatives aimed at expanding cooperation with educational institutions, contributing to the training of qualified professionals, the development of lifelong learning, and the strengthening of links between education and the labor market.
