Rules of conduct for Customs officers

The formation of a common environment of good order in every sphere of public service, including customs, plays a key role in preventing illegal behavior of a public servant.

Such an environment can be formed when the norms of ethics and behavior are interpreted and applied together, ensuring unity and integrity.

In addition, disciplinary proceedings against customs officers are legal processes and, as such, must be subject to the law. It is important that the established norms are clear to everyone and applied equally.

Within the framework of the training programs “soft skills”, “ethical standards for employees of the SRC of the Republic of Armenia”, “rules of conduct, measures aimed at neutralizing and reducing corruption risks”, from June 19 to 22, a four-day course for specialists of the departments of the SRC of the Republic of Armenia on the topic “retraining of lecturers of the explanatory manual on the rules of conduct of customs officers" was held at the training center of the SRC of the Republic of Armenia.

The course was taught by a specialist in international law, lawyer Ara Ghazaryan, who is also the author of the manual "explanatory guide to the rules of conduct of a customs officer", created with the assistance of US citizens, within the framework of the program "good behavior of Armenia", funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID).

The course was held with the components of the methodology of interaction and participation: demonstration, classroom and group discussions, training, solving situational problems, developing the methodology of their courses by participants, etc.
