Training on “Applied Excel”

The Training Center of the RA SRC continues to organize trainings on various topics for different target audiences.

At the initiative of Artem Karapetyan, Head of the Foreign Economic Activity Customs Service and Control Department of the RA SRC, a training on “Applied Excel” was held at the Training Center from September 3 to 20, with the participation of 45 SRC employees.

Considering the need for advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, the aim of the training was to provide a new toolkit for working with Excel, making the work of customs officers more efficient and effective for the following reasons:

  • Data Analysis - Excel helps analyze data, identify trends, and monitor import/export statistics, which is essential for compliance and risk assessment.
  • Record Keeping - customs officers often need to maintain detailed records of shipments, tariffs, and duties. Excel enables structured organization of this information.
  • Efficiency - automating repetitive tasks, such as duty calculations or data sorting, saves time and reduces errors.
  • Collaboration - Excel facilitates information sharing between colleagues and other institutions, enhancing communication and coordination.
  • Problem Solving - the use of formulas helps quickly resolve logistical issues related to shipments and compliance.

The training was conducted by one of the leading specialists in the field, Mayis Margaryan, Director of “Excelist,” who is also the President of the NGO “Children of Regions in Regions” and the founder of a decentralized cooperation network for Armenian youth.

As a result of the training, each participant gained access to practical tools necessary for performing professional tasks and making fast and accurate decisions.
