Successful Completion of the Introductory Course on Open Source Internet Research
Yerevan, March 11 – The State Revenue Committee (SRC) Training Center, in collaboration with the International Relations department of SRC and the Federal Policing National Intelligence/Global Initiatives of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, is proud to announce the successful completion of a five-day course titled "Introduction to Open Source Internet Research." This landmark event took place at the SRC Training Center and marked a significant step forward in the collaborative efforts between these distinguished organizations.
The course was designed to equip custom officers and officers from the Counterfeit Department with the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for effective open-source internet research. Participants were introduced to basic models of search engines, metadata and exif data mapping tools, as well as strategies for online risk reduction and profile building and maintenance. Through a combination of lectures, hands-on exercises, and workstation setup demonstrations, the officers gained valuable insights into the practical applications of open-source research in their daily duties.
The Canadian Ambassador, Andrew Turner, addressed the participants, highlighting the strong cooperation between Canada and Armenia and expressing optimism for future collaborative efforts. Ambassador Turner's remarks underscored the importance of international partnerships in enhancing the capabilities of law enforcement agencies worldwide.
Ashot Muradyan, the SRC Deputy Chairman, also spoke at the event, emphasizing the critical role of such collaborations and trainings in bringing new expertise to Armenia's classrooms and workforce. His comments reflected the commitment of the SRC to fostering a culture of continuous learning and adaptation among its officers.
The training program concluded with a certificate ceremony, where participants were formally recognized for their dedication and achievements.
